In this episode, Set Lunch interviews the ladyboss and co-founder of Mafioso Shellaut on their success story of pivoting from a previously struggling business to running 5 “shellout” concept stores across the Klang Valley area. Mafioso Shellaut is currently operating in Cyberjaya, Shah Alam, Bandar Utama and Puchong everyday from 6.30pm, focusing on alfresco freshly cooked shellout-style seafood.
The husband and wife duo behind Mafioso Shellaut were initially behind a floundering and stagnant char kuey teow business in Puchong when the rising trend of shellout concept restaurants hit Malaysia. Deciding to try it out for themselves and afterwards deriving inspiration from a pioneer of the concept, they then decide to pivot their existing F&B business from selling char kuey teow to a shellout concept restaurant! Today, the chain of stores under their belt currently operates in five different locations and our Set Lunch host, JD, interviews the couple to discover the secret recipe behind both their delicious seafood and F&B success.
